Hello,
It was wonderful meeting all of my peers for the first time. I'm glad that we have a small class size simply because I'm a little shy, but if I'm one on one with someone its not so bad. I can say I'm not really looking forward to peer reviews because I don't deal with criticism very well and I have never been comfortable with my peers reading my work. The only condition I am comfortable with them reading it is if I became really good friends with them, then I don't tend to mind so well. I'm looking forward to having a wonderful semester with you all and I hope you all do as well. Now I'm just hoping I am doing this right since I feel like I have no idea what I am doing since its been 3 years since I have been in school and this is the first time I have done this online.

ReplyDeleteI am also a shy and quiet person, so I was thankful to see that we have a small class. Peer reviews scare me too. However, it is not because of the criticism, but because I am ashamed of what may be wrong with my writing. One thing I love about college and education is that it is never too late; even after three years. There is never a limit to our education and the things we learn. I hope I responded correctly.

I'm glad that I'm not alone with that aspect. It never is to late, the hard part is playing catch up on everything that you may have forgotten with in that time period. I know a man that is in his 70's and went to school and finally was able to learn how to read and write. I was so excited and happy for him. He was so proud of himself that he brought tears to his own eyes. I have always known the importance of education and was excited that I was going to be able to fulfill my dreams of going to college to continue on with it. I'm just glad that I am back here so I can better not only my life but my families as well.

It was great meeting all of you as well. I kind of like that are class is small too because I'm a pretty shy person and I'm also not so great at remembering names. I agree with you on the others reading and criticizing my work, but its something I'm willing to overlook and hopefully become great friends with you all. It may take a while for me, but I'll eventually come around!
